Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)

BSEC was established in Istanbul as a forum for regional cooperation in 1992. With the entry into force of its Charter in 1999, it acquired international legal identity as a full-fledged intergovernmental organization promoting mainly the economic cooperation among its 12 Member States and beyond. Today the BSEC Organization is active in a wide range of sectors, among which that of Transports is one of the most important.

The relevant BSEC projects envisage development of road and maritime infrastructure, with due focus to the harmonization of cross-border procedures, in order to further facilitate trade and tourism in the BSEC region, while transforming it into a reliable transport bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa.
