Republic of Korea: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is the central authority of the Republic of Korea responsible for the affairs concerning land, infrastructure and transport.

To realize its vision of ‘Livable Territory, Convenient Transport,’ MOLIT has set out four missions-‘Balanced Territorial Development & Environmentally-friendly National Land Management,’ ‘Housing Stability for Low-income Households through Universal Housing Welfare,’ ‘Safe & Convenient Transport Services’ and ‘Efficient Logistics System & Global Aviation Superpower.’

To this end, MOLIT develops a national plan on land use and development while introducing and enforcing laws and policy measures on land.

MOLIT also overseas matters on water & land resources (e.g. use and preservation of water and land), infrastructure (e.g. construction of cities, roads and houses), reclamation of offshore and riverside areas and matters on land, air and rail transport.
