Catenary electrified trucks: Field trial on A5 in Hessen and outlook

Recent international studies highlight the need to reduce GHG emissions from heavy road freight and point to the potential to do so quickly and cheaply for long-haul trucks by using catenary systems. In this presentation both an infrastructure operator (Hessen Mobil) and a technology supplier (Siemens Mobility) will share information about the already started field trial of a catenary system on the German motorway A5 close to Frankfurt, as well as inform about the background of the project and outlook for such systems.
